Italy – Primiero Valley Energy Community

Located in the Province of Trento, the Primiero Valley Energy Community supports about 7,905 members, including households, public buildings, and hotels. The community leverages hydro, solar, and biomass resources, achieving 100% renewable energy independence. Primiero’s infrastructure includes a biomass-based district heating network, hydroelectric plants, PV systems, and EV chargers. Italian regulations now permit larger renewable installations, allowing Primiero to expand its flexibility capabilities and test collective self-consumption schemes.
